Tachus Celebrates Teacher Appreciation Week

Tachus Community

December 12, 2022

This year's Teacher Appreciation Week takes place from May 3 to May 7! This is a week to recognize all the contributions teachers make to our lives and our community.

We would like to thank all the teachers in our lives. If you're familiar with our story, you know that teachers have always been important to us and that one teacher in particular, Hal Brumfield's mother, was integral to the founding of Tachus. And while teachers have always been important to us and to countless others, the spread of COVID-19 and the transition to distance learning have highlighted just how important they are. This past year has been a challenge for everyone, especially teachers as they had to quickly transition to virtual classrooms. Because of this, teachers have truly stood out this year for their ability to adapt as well as their commitment to the education of their students.

One of the ways that we chose to express our gratitude to the teachers in our communities was to sponsor this year's Partnership Lake Houston Teacher of the Year awards. The teachers who were named as recipients last week and honored this week were a few of the many teachers in Greater Houston who have stepped up not only this past year but throughout their whole careers to educate and empower their students.

If you know a teacher, be sure to share your appreciation and gratitude for the work they do.
